Jesse Clegg is a South African singer-songwriter whose three studio albums, “When I Wake Up”, “Life On Mars”, and his latest album, “Things Unseen”, have made the young artist a platinum-selling success in his home country.
The son of iconic musician Johnny Clegg, Jesse spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father. He has released six Top 10 singles and toured extensively throughout South Africa. As an official ambassador for the Nelson Mandela 46664 foundation, Jesse was invited to play at Radio City Music Hall in New York for the annual Mandela Day Concert. Jesse has been nominated for four South African Music Awards.
Last year, Jesse was selected as an official artist at SXSW and performed several shows in Austen, TX, as well as LA. A collaboration with legendary DJs Kentphonik entitled “I’ll Follow You” was also released this year; the song was met with critical acclaim in South Africa and was the most played song in the country during its release.
HotWater, fronted by charasmatic Donovan Copley, is a premier South African act whose core strength is connecting audiences to the spirit of South Africa with music as vibrant as the land that inspires it. Their highly engaging, world-class live performances are not to be missed, and are organically interactive and full of electric energy.
When the producers of the Hollywood blockbuster “Blended” were looking to find a song that embodied South Africa, they chose HotWater’s catchy track “Wamkelekile”, making it the most prominently used South African song in a blockbuster film ever, and helping it reach over a million streams on Spotify.
